Two large towers could bring more than 1,200 units to the Journal Square neighborhood, while a medical marijuana dispensary could set up shop on Coles Street.
The city planning board is expected to vote Tuesday on a 27-story tower on the corner of Hoboken and Central avenues and a 28-story tower on Cottage Street.
The 27-story mixed-use tower being developed by Delancey Development LLC will have a total of 584 units, with more than half of the units studio apartments. The building will contain roughly 45,000 square feet of office space and 1,925 square feet of retail space.
The proposal for the half-acre lot includes just 45 parking spaces, but will have 298 spaces for bicycles.
Some of the amenities include a game room, a club area, a co-working lounge and a pool. The building will also include a gym with separate areas for cardio, weightlifting, spinning and yoga.
Donald Pepe, the lawyer for Delancy Development could not be reached for comment.
On Cottage Street, a developer is proposing a mixed-use, 28-story tower with 669 units consisting mostly of studios and 1-bedroom apartments. The development would be a little over a block away from the Journal Square PATH Station and would include nearly 45,000 square feet
