Marijuana product recall included distribution to a Lapeer dispensary | The County Press – Thecountypress

LAPEER — The Michigan Regulatory Agency (MRA) has issued a marijuana product recall due to unapproved testing and sampling of infused edible products by a Bay City producer. The recalled products were dispersed to marijuana sales locations throughout Michigan, including at Shango Lapeer, 224 E. Genesee.

Shango Lapeer is one of six retail locations licensed by the City of Lapeer and the State of Michigan to sell both medical and adult-use (recreational) marijuana to persons 21 and older.

The affected 10,000 packages of marijuana-infused chocolate edibles called, Covert Cups, were recalled because the products didn’t go through proper inspection after being processed. Rather than being inserted in clear packaging, they were placed in colored packages.

The Covert Cups were processed at 3843 Euclid LLC.

An MRA investigation is still ongoing and may result in additional future recalls.

The recalled products include peanut butter cups, s’mores cups, banana cream cups and other varieties of marijuana-infused chocolate cups.

Stores are required to notify customers and display the recall notice in the store for 30 days.
